Not only is Dr. Schaefer a great oral surgeon with a great bedside manner, he goes ABOVE AND BEYOND for his patients. Talk about an oral surgeon to cares about his people and the services he provides. His entire staff is also superb! Thank you Dr. Schaefer and team for an excellent experience!

Dr. John Schaefer at piedmont periodontics help in when I had a medical emergency with an extraction. My dentist kept telling me it was normal and I knew something wasn’t right, I kept bleeding excessively so I went to this office and it was 5 star from the time I walked in to the time I left. Great customer service and good sense of humor. All the staff were so friendly and seemed happy to be at work. Tammie was his assistant that day and she was super sweet. Will go again!

Dr. Schaefer was recommended by my dentist and I couldn’t have been more happy. He took a great amount of time educating me and allowing me to ask questions. I was also pleased that he took a conservative route with my treatment and I ended up not having to have any surgery. He worked with my dentist in a timely manner and I’m happy to say my issue has been successfully resolved. Dr. Schaefer and his team get 5 glowing stars.

Dr. Schafer and his staff are all more than competent, and in fact, very friendly people. They go out of their way to explain things thoroughly as well as make you comfortable before and during your procedure. If you are in need of any periodontal work, I would highly recommend Dr. Schafer. I’ve been to several periodontists in my lifetime and Dr. Schaefer is by far the best I have seen.

Getting a gum graft is no picnic but Dr. Schaefer was incredibly responsive throughout the process which made it go as smoothly as possible.

Honestly, nobody wants to get a gum graft, but these folks made the experience so easy for me. I highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.
Regan, the practice admin, broke down all of the costs, found ways to save me money, spent time with me before the procedure to ensure that I understood everything fully, and made himself available for questions anytime following the surgery. My procedure was right before Christmas, so having his cell going into the holiday was honestly so unexpected and appreciated.
Dr. Schaefer and his entire staff were all fun to chat with and everyone explained everything in detail throughout the process - from billing, x-rays, procedure options, sedation, etc. I couldn't recommend this team enough!

Being new to Atlanta and finding new health care providers can be challenge. After several recommendations for Piedmont Periodontics, I decided to check them out. Tracy, the Front Office Coordinator was a delight when answering the phone and scheduling my appointment.
Arriving at the office I was pleased to discover the free parking located in the garage. Tracy welcomed me with a warm smile and continued the check in process. Being new to Atlanta finding new health care providers can be challenge. After several recommendations for Piedmont Periodontics, I decided to check them out. Once Dr. Schaefer explained the necessary treatment in detail, he then directed me to Regan the Practice Administrator to discuss scheduling, finances and to answer any questions I had relating to my dental insurance. After scheduling my appointment with Regan I was eager to return to the office and start my recommended treatment.

I have been a patient of Piedmont Periodontics for the last twenty years and was a bit concerned when Dr. Bartruff left and Dr. Schaefer took over the practice, but my fears were soon allayed by his professional ability, skills and friendly manner. I find him very empathetic both during and after a procedure. I am very pleased with the final results of all of his work. However, the joy of Piedmont Periodontics is the administrative staff. Reagan, the office manager, is a jewel. His beaming smile and easy charm make the whole process such a pleasure. He has guided me through the whole maze of paperwork and always has an answer for every question. Traci, the receptionist, always greets me cheerfully and shows concern for any need that I might have. I highly recommend this office to anyone in need of a top notch periodontist and support staff.

Hands down one of the BEST medical practices in Atlanta. Working in healthcare for over 25 years, I am very aware of the level of expectation one should receive from the first call to the post treatment care at ANY physician/medical/dental office. From the moment I called, I received superior care. Each team member I had contact with was AMAZING. I felt very welcome and was guided step by step. I was provided multiple options for my treatment. I was not pressured one way or the other, but made a well informed decision based on the information that I was provided. Great patient care is hard to find, but you need not look any further. Piedmont Periodontics checks every single box for me.
