Construction has begun on a temporary park at the northeast corner of 10th and Peachtree. Plans call for installing three “outdoor rooms” including
- a fenced dog park
- an activity zone for lawn games such as ping-pong and cornhole
- and a climbable structure.
Last November, the popular Autoeater sculpture was replaced by a rock-paper-scissors installation Conversation Peace by Kevin Box. Other artistic additions to the greenspace will include a mural by artist Jasmine Nicole Williams and sculptural seating with LED lighting designed by Fabio Novembre for Vondom, an international outdoor furniture and lighting company.
Taking advantage of the $1-per-year Midtown Alliance lease from landholder Dewberry Corporation, the Midtown Improvement District is funding the $350,000 project.
